Homeward Bound

April 25, 2013

They crucified my Savior, and nailed Him to the cross

Then Joseph begged his body and laid it it in the tomb

Sister Mary she came running, a-looking for my Lord

An angel came from heaven and rolled the stone away

And the Lord will bear my spirit home.

CHORUS:

He rose, He rose, He rose from the dead;

He rose, He rose, He rose from the dead;

He rose, He rose, He rose from the dead,

And the Lord will bear my spirit home.

— compilation of verses 1-4, and chorus, of He Rose

There isn’t much to say about this next song in the Resurrection and Exaltation section of our United Methodist Hymnal except “Amen!”

Especially the last line of  all the verses and the chorus: “the Lord will bear my spirit home.”

No matter how long or hard the journey, ““the Lord will bear my spirit home.”

That’s already happening for you and me, today.

Amen?
