Uh-Oh: Living Frank’s Prayer, Part 13 of 14

February 28, 2012

“It is in pardoning that we are pardoned”

Not a lot of wiggle room here.

Not much room for negotiation in this line from another prayer: “Forgive us, as we forgive others.”

Time to stall, raise your hand, ask a question.  “How many times do I need to do this whole forgiveness thing?”

And the answer comes unexpectedly, “Seventy times seven.”

So can we keep score, with a goal of 490 examples of us demonstrating forgiveness?  And then relish the approach of number 491?  No.

Not if we claim to follow the One who prayed for the forgiveness of those who were crucifiying Him.
