And I know it’s true, because the woman who recently told it to me swears she was there.
At a wedding reception, the bride’s grandfather stood up to speak. The room fell silent, as he was one of the most-respected people in town. Everyone knew him, and they all loved him.
“Young man,” he began, and his tone turned smiling faces into worried looks.
He surveyed the room.
“I dare say, there are but five words of advice that merit my repetition here and now.
“And these are they….”
He swung his gaze to the newlyweds as people leaned forward.
“‘Let’s go out to dinner!'”
