A Wedding Broke Out in Church
We had a wedding break out in the middle of our Saturday evening worship service this weekend.
Okay, so we’d been planning it for a year. And we’d publicized it for a long time.
And the bride’s adult daughter was Skyped in from Cambodia.
And the rest of their 7 adult children came up front to help with their Unity Candle moment.
And the first thing Laurie and Jim did as a newlywed couple was to serve Holy Communion to family and friends.
And it was wonderful.
The theme song of it all was This Is a Day of New Beginnings.
And it was.
And today is another one, so what application will you make of verse 1 of that song? It says,
This is a day of new beginnings,
Time to remember and move on,
Time to believe what love is bringing,
Laying to rest the pain that’s gone.
My hope and prayer for you is that you do “remember and move on,” and that by the grace of God you do indeed find yourself “laying to rest the pain that’s gone.”
And join me and a ton of their friends in prayers of celebration for Laurie and Jim.
See you back here tomorrow.
Wow, I’ve been awake since 4am with that song in my head! The wedding, Christmas holidays and family were great, but now I need to find a new part time, paying job! Guess I’ll just keep humming that “new beginnings” song!
