You, Too?

November 2, 2015

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,

God’s mercies never come to an end;

they are new every morning:

great is your faithfulness.

— Lamentations 3:22-23

As what might be another busy week begins, let’s remember God’s faithfulness.

Take a moment and breathe in God’s steadfast love.

Seriously: take a moment and breathe that in.

Savor God’s mercies that never come to an end.

Seriously: take a moment and savor God’s never-ending mercies.

These are new every morning, including today.

Seriously: take a moment and realize the truth of that at this very moment.

Hear that?

Yeah, that.

Right there.

It’s the grateful, humble silence to which these realizations reduce me.

You, too?

Thanks be unto God. Amen.

It’s upon Gods forgiveness that I dwell seeming to Need it the most.

    You and me both, Bill.

My favorite part of our liturgy for Holy Communion is gratitude that “this forgiveness includes us and our sins.” Usually get choked up about then.

Thanks for reading and commenting; greatly appreciated.

Me too! I overslept today. Unusual because I must have fallen asleep during the news last night. I awoke with my computer in my lap, my clothes on, and a headache. I had only over slept an hour and a half, but with the return to the right time over the weekend, I missed that dawning of the day. The, even better now, gradual lightening of the day, the opposite of dusk into night with dusk into morning. I was startled to see the bright, clean sunshine — just BOOM. I have always, since my body started waking me every day at 6:00 a.m. standard time a couple of decades ago, relished, and marveled at the masterpiece of dawning light. Today, the brightness just increased that wonder with a startling newness of the quality of the brightness day-to-day. Yesterday was so fresh and new after the couple of days of clouds and rain, but today is a different kind of bright. I realize now I see a slight change in each day. It is exactly like his snowflakes with no two ever being the same, daylights and dawnings are just like that, no two alike!

I went to the dentist this morning. I needed yet another adjustment to the temporary that was only supposed to last 18 months and is presently five months short of three years. They couldn’t adjust it any more. I needed a reline and it was $175. I had 3.41 in my checking account and everything else maxed out from my trip (for my soul, mental health, and my life, worth every penny in and of itself). I asked if they could add it to my current account for crowns without increasing my payment (which is choking me every month). She asked me if I could put anything down and I told her the balance today in my checking account. She said she would check. She came back after talking to the dentist (not checking my account), she said we can do it right now. I said, “Without increasing my payment?” She said “No, the dentist is just going to do it.” I was so incredibly grateful. When she was done, all I could say was, WOW. It does more than one thing for my bite, comfort, etc. that would be my countenance in the mirror. I was speechless and thankful over and over. I had to get online to look at my bank account (had to make sure that 3.41 hadn’t been hit by something else I forgot to deduct and I needed to come here after using my online NKJV and Upper Room before putting the computer away again. Doing your exercise just now, just after getting home, drove home the humility even more than it existed on the way home! Bless you!

On the comment about Holy Communion, I tear up and sometimes have an eye leak.

I know you are probably aware, but the new issue of the Upper Room started yesterday with the quoted scripture being Lamentations 3:22-23 and ending with the Thought for the Day, “God’s grace has no limits or conditions.” I so love when I get here and all comes full circle and the rest of the day will be on hallow ground no matter what occurs!
