Not Just Your Work — job interview, part 4

October 30, 2014

“Where do you see yourself in 10 years, in 5 years?  You gotta have a plan.  Have a plan for your life, and for your restaurant.”

The Restaurant Manager was interviewing a Prospective Employee, explaining the chain’s incentive program.  Essentially, the company hired from within and every employee was encouraged to become a manager, even to open a new restaurant within the expanding chain.

What caught my attention was the inclusion of having “a plan for your life.”

The familiar Old Testament promise, “I  know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” (Jeremiah 29:11), is an invitation to see our futures laden with glowing opportunities.

What’s your “plan for your life?”  Not just for your work, but “for your life?”

Keeping you in my prayers more than ever this week as we think together about these things.  I’d appreciate yours as well.

As always you have them. I have been speechless in fear of the thoughts and non-definitive answers that come to mind! It is more scary than frustrating this week!
