Miss Lois Prescribed This
I’m thankful today.
Miss Lois taught me how to do that, and more importantly, how to be that.
She was on tv’s classic children’s show, Romper Room. Her words were “God is great, God is good, let us thank God.”
More than a precursor to a list, those words instilled an attitude.
“In everything give thanks,” wrote St. Paul in 1st Thessalonians 5:18. That takes practice.
I’m still learning, but it’s getting easier.
How about you?
Do you really believe that “God is great, God is good?”
The next step is clearly and simply stated as “let us thank God.”
Sometimes that’s a big step.
