Get Ready, Church

Clint Benesh is a friend and colleague who recently wrote this while at church camp, and I share it with his graciously expressed permission —

This morning at 6:30 about 50 students from many churches gathered together for no other purpose but to worship our great God. It was amazing.

I love what one of the students said when talking about the older generations of the church. He said we are not there to take their place, but to be their reinforcements.

While it cut me to the core that I’m in that “older generations” bracket, it gave me so much hope and joy for God’s church in our communities.

Keep praying for these students, because God is moving in and with them.

And churches be ready, they are hungry to be the church and aren’t going to sit idly waiting for an invitation.
