Jesus Died WHERE?!
“If you’re ashamed of the incarcerated, you’re in the wrong business. Jesus died in custody.”
Dr. Harold Dean Doc Trulear is credited with that line, and I got it from Traci Blackmon, and it has rattled around inside me for a couple of months now.
“Jesus died in custody.”
Reminds me of Andy, my older half-brother.
Reminds me of people I’ve visited in jails and prisons.
And like an old song says, “It reminds me of a Savior’s love, who died to set me free!”
My hope and prayer is that it sticks with you as well: “If you’re ashamed of the incarcerated, you’re in the wrong business. Jesus died in custody.”
