What Kinda Wednesday? part 6
IN A HURRY? JUMP DOWN TO WHERE IT’S ALL BOLD LIKE THIS —
[QUICK REVIEW: It was called “Wonderful Wednesday.” No classes scheduled. A day to catch up. Great idea, right?
Get this: Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Christ Jesus said that. He went on: Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. And maybe best of all, I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly. Christ Jesus promises you that in Matthew 11:28-30, The Message Version.
Officially-sanctioned “Wonderful Wednesdays” were a long time ago for me. So long ago that I forget them and what they were like. But I remember the need. Regularly.
How about you? When’s the last time you felt the importance of finding a way to recover your life, as our Lord said? And when’s the last time you were able to take a real rest, especially in a holiday season?]
— In two days we’ll celebrate the birth of the One who invites us to learn to live freely and lightly. Take a deep breath; re-read that sentence.
The remembrance of His birthday be a good time to take seriously His enticing words —

— I can’t think of a much better Christmas Gift than the chance to “learn to live freely and lightly” with the one who is the real Star of Christmas, can you?
