The Third Sunday
The season of the Gospel called Advent started on December 1st this year. It includes the four Sundays before Christmas, and ends on Christmas Eve.
During Advent, we prepare for, and anticipate, the coming of Christ.
We remember the longing of Jews for a Messiah and our own longing for, and need of, forgiveness, salvation and a new beginning. –—
Clearly you and I are not not the first ones, we’re just the next ones.
But sometimes it seems we’ve become so well-adjusted to the culture around us that we’re not even aware of our own longing for, and need of, forgiveness.
God, help us. Amen.
