Advent Self-Assessment, part 2b.
From a couple of days ago here —
This season of the Gospel called Advent is about two things: preparation and waiting.
Have we gotten so good at the former that we’ve forgotten the latter?
Psalm 37:7 points us in the direction of recovery when it says, Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for God.
Shhhhh.
— But…slowing down enough to get quiet…is only the beginning.
There are two more parts to Psalm 37:7′s prescription:
a) Be still
b) before the Lord
and wait
c) patiently for God.
And here I thought I’d done a lot by finally Shhhhhhh-ing myself! You, too?!
Nope.
Only the beginning.
Gotta get the focus off ourselves and onto the One for whom we wait patiently.
