For Erasers
Today I’m thankful for erasers.
The kind that really work.
You might remember those erasers that were supposed to erase the ink from like a ballpoint pen. Did those ever work for you? All I could ever get one of those to do was rip a hole in my paper. Which I guess did erase the mistake, now that I think about it. But it was tricky trying to write with a chunk of the page missing.
Pencils with erasers at the end are great, until they’re not. The back of desk drawers seem to be their favorite hiding places. When you find one there, if the eraser is by now as hard the rest of the pencil, all it’s going to is a remarkable imitation of an ink eraser and leave a hole in your paper.
But when they work….ohhhh, the wonder of it all! An “e” can be removed and replaced with an “i” before a new “e” except after “c” and you’ve just opened up a whole new world!
Sorta like as far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed our sins from us, as Psalm 103:12 says.
Today I’m thankful for erasers.
Especially the one God uses on my sins.
