Orson Welles, You, & Me
An unfinished Orson Welles film has been found in a vault in a Paris suburb.
Rebecca Keegan wrote recently about it, saying —
“The Other Side of the Wind is straddling the movie industry’s analog and digital eras to an extreme.
“To finish the picture, the producers are relying on the last generation who know how to cut and handle actual film.
“To finance and exhibit it, they have turned to the most modern of entertainment companies, a streaming service.” (—VF, May 2018, p. 104)
— Hmmm. Sound at all familiar to anybody else?
Sure sounds to me like where most churches are: “straddling the…analog and digital eras to an extreme.”
And we wonder why things frequently get, uh, interesting in congregations.
Good thing God’s still in business: ““Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (— Hebrews 13:5, quoting Deut. 31:6)
