Holy, Human
[Quick Review: if you missed my last two days’ blogs here, on the word HOLY, simply scroll down and catch up.]
“Just as I am,” that hymn has us sing.
“What does it mean to be holy AND human?” Alicia asks us in 40 Days of Decrease on page 77.
She goes on, reminding us that Christ Jesus was fully human as well as fully divine. “Of course he cried,” she reminds us, citing a couple of example from the Gospels.
“Crying is not a sin,” she continues.
And then one of my favorite lines that I’d tweet if I tweeted: “Messy is not sin.”
Let’s remind each other of that when the messiness of the real lives we live threaten to drown us.
And so then, “What does it mean to be holy AND human?”
Let’s help each other keep living into the answers. Deal?
