Getting It Wrong

November 29, 2017

“Getting it wrong is your greatest opportunity to getting it right the next time,” says Helen Rothberg. She’s the author of The Perfect Mix: Everything I Know About Leadership I Learned as a Bartender.

At the table in the corner writing a letter is our old friend St. Paul. He’s the author of most our New Testament.

He nods his head in agreement, thinks a moment, then starts writing again: “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 3:13,14)

What is there that you have a chance at “getting it right the next time,” as Helen says? Today would be a good day to let be “the next time.”

And what is there you need to forget about and instead “press on toward,” as St. Paul says? Today would be a good day to move “toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called” you.

Thanks be unto God for another chance! Amen?
