Every Time You Cross My Mind
Every time you cross my mind,
I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.
— Philippians 1:3, The Message version
That’s probably not the way you learned that verse. Neither did I.
You probably learned a more sedate version. So did I.
But this one, from Gene Peterson’s version of the Bible called The Message, says it so well:
Every time you cross my mind,
I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.
You probably have people in your life of whom that sentence reminds you. So do I.
This Thanksgiving Weekend, if it’s possible, let’s contact them and tell them. Specifically.
Let’s tell them exactly what we appreciate so much about them.
For example: I greatly appreciate you…
…for reading my humble blog
…for commenting on it whether in person or online or however
…for sharing it with other people
…for coming back the next day.
In other words,
Every time you cross my mind,
I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.
Tears in my eyes as I read this and think of friends and family still with me and those who have gone on. Thank you.
Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God!
