What Was All That About, Anyway?

Since May 11, my regular blog titles here have all begun with the word “What.”

Several times, “What” was the beginning of a question that was itself my regular title.

Our United Methodist quadrennial General Conference met in Portland May 10-20. As we process all that happened in Portland…or maybe I should say all that didn’t happen in Portland…that four-letter word “What” will surface again and again.

It’s okay to ask questions.

It’s okay to share your own stuff.

It’s okay to listen.

It’s okay to admit you don’t have all the answers right now.

Really.

It’s “What” it’s all about. Like a song says, They’ll know we are Christians by our love.

May the love of Christ be “What” we’re about.

Won’t you join me in both praying and working for that to be true?
