Happy Mother’s Day, but Wait!

May 8, 2016

First, Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you know the backstory of this holiday…if not, it’s a fascinating one that goes back further than you might imagine, and includes “Mothering Sunday” and wow yeah just check this out:

But wait! In some churches, for a lot of good reasons this has been expanded to be called and celebrated as Festival of The Christian Home:

But wait! Today is also known as Ascension Sunday. Check out what Acts 1:1-11 says:

But wait! Everything changes! We’re still celebrating that first Easter, or what some call Resurrection Sunday. Kate Moorehead writes,

“If you and I can

believe in the resurrection without hesitation,

if we can really trust that

nothing will separate us from the love of God

and that our souls are destined

to live with Christ in a life far exceeding this one,

then everything changes.”

My hope and prayer for you today is that  “everything changes” because of the resurrection.

Because it does.
