Why Are You One?
Always be ready to give an answer
when someone asks you about your hope.
— 1st Peter 3:15, The Message version
Tuesday evening was the second of our church’s eight week study of the classic C. S. Lewis book Mere Christianity.
The DVD included a true story about being invited to High Table at a prestigious British university. During that dinner with the faculty, the guest was asked this seemingly simple question: “Why are you a Christian?”
How would you answer that?
Here’s a start: “I’m a Christian because….”
How do you finish that?
I am a Christian because I would like to live every day like Jesus. Careing for and loving people.
When I visualize the horrible agony he went through to save me, I want to live honorably.
