Gotta Have It to Share It
“Lord, help us not to shy away from our own transgressions,
neither to hold the sins of others against them,
but to name sin with confidence that
your forgiveness has the power
to effect a just reconciliation in our world. Amen.”
— page 476, Common Prayer:
A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals
Sin does not have the last word, not in this prayer and not in human experience.
“Lord, help us…to name sin with confidence that your forgiveness has… power.”
Today, by the grace of God, may we know the power of that forgiveness, and remember it, and share it!
“Forgive us…as we forgive,” Jesus teaches us to pray. (Matthew 6:12)
Struggling here today. Can’t go into it here, but need to with someone at some point. Right now my focus is on not disappointing a grandchild in Kentucky with a request she made to me in September for a Halloween costume. She gets enough disappointment every day. How many 12-year-olds do you know who have per-ulcerous stomachs? You might be guessing part of the crux of my struggle.
