Two Significant Things to Celebrate Today
It’s Pentecost Sunday! We celebrate the Birthday of Christ’s Holy Church; see Acts 2 for details.
It’s also Aldersgate Sunday! United Methodist followers of Christ remember and celebrate May 24, 1738 when John Wesley had his “heart strangely warmed.” It was the beginning of revival and renewal. Ask a United Methodist, or for sure a United Methodist pastor, for details.
Two significant things to celebrate today — join the rest of us in worship and experience something new today!
That’ll preach!

Oddly, I had my “heart strangely warmed” almost 45 years ago at a place called Little Grassy and a camp named Aldersgate Institute. Aldersgate has played a very active role in my life and in my inspirational writings and essays! Those a such good and warm comforting memories!!!
