The Key to Failure

May 23, 2015

I don’t know the key to success,

but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

That line’s attributed to more people that I’m gonna list here, so let’s just get to it: you and I know it to be true.

For some of us, it’s painfully true that the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

From Scripture comes this simple admonition: “Don’t get sidetracked.” (Proverbs 4:27) But it’s so easy to do when we listen to, and try to please, everybody.

And then there’s this, from Jesus: “Nobody putting his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62) Yikes.

To whose advice will you listen today — everybody’s?

The key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Take time to listen to right One this weekend.
