First, Happy Mother’s Day!
Second, please remember that this can be a difficult day for many people for many reasons. Let’s be aware of this, sensitive to them, and keep them in our prayers
Third, in our church this weekend in worship we’re celebrating The Festival of The Christian Home. In our United Methodist tradition, this includes the variety of sizes and shapes of our families.
After our Saturday evening worship service, one of our church’s children asked if she could read me a list she’d made. Of course I immediately said Yes. When she finished, she asked if she could read it for everyone. I got the attention of everyone in our fellowship time and she read it for all.
Thunderous applause followed.
I asked her if I could make a copy and share it. With her permission, I present her list she’d titled Ken’t Liv Out, which as she read it loud became Ken’t Live (With)Out––
Mom
Deney
jrex (drinks)
food
God
Jesis (Jesus)
pastr (pastor)
Who’s on your list today? Take the time to make a list like hers, and if possible find a way to let those on your list know how much you appreciate them.
