Walk This Way
I want to walk as a child of the Light
—- title and first line of hymn #206 in
The United Methodist Hymnal
Advent, the time of preparation and waiting, is behind us.
Epiphany, the time of revelation and inclusion, is ahead of us.
It’s Monday of Christmas Season.
Will we be any different today because of our celebration of the birth of The Christ of Christmas? And our participation in it? And because of the presence of Christ and our renewed faith?
At the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, Matthew’s Gospel Account quotes a verse from the Old Testament as the reason for all that is to follow. It all happened “to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah: …the people walking in darkness have seen a great light.” (Matthew 4:14-16)
Too many of us are still walking in that same darkness.
Let’s do what that song says: walk as a child of the Light.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WITH US, MAY GOD GUIDE US TODAY AND ALWAYS.
