St. Irene of Centenary
“All Saints (November 1) is a day of
remembrance for the saints,
with the New Testament meaning of
all Christian people of
every time and place.
We celebrate the communion of saints
as we remember the dead,
both of the Church universal
and of our local congregations.
For this reason of the names of persons
in the congregation who have died
during the past year may be solemnly read
as a Response to the Word.”

The United Methodist
Book of Worship, # 413.
This morning the family and friends of Irene Kreke will gather for a Service of Death and Resurrection.
We’ll celebrate her life and mourn our loss.
How existentially poignant are these words, especially today: “Do not grieve like the rest of humanity, who have no hope.” (1st Thessalonians 4:13)
We do grieve.
But we also have hope in Christ and the promise of The Resurrection.
All Saints…including St. Irene of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Amen and amen!

Irene will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful lady and a sister in Christ.

Indeed she was. Great family there today, too.
