When a Bishop Comes to Visit, part 5

October 20, 2013

Bishop Jonathon D. Keaton, Resident Bishop of The Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church, was our guest preacher recently.

His sermon was different in the second service than in the first.

In his second time in our pulpit, he included direct references to things that had happened that morning.

He even quoted a line from our Children’s Sermon, relative to something funny that happened in that second service.

In other words, Bishop Keaton was in the moment.

You and I can learn from his example.

We can help each other remember that “this is the day the Lord has made,” as Psalm 118:24 says.

Sometimes that gets as specific as “this is the moment the Lord has made.”

That verse ends by telling us to “rejoice and be glad.”

Today, this moment!
