That meeting turned into a productive life-long collaboration between the two men. Billy Strayhorn would go on to write a song about his initial encounter with Duke Ellington, titling it with part of those original directions: “Take the ‘A’ Train.”
Everyday stuff becomes legendary in the hands of genius.

I see this verse on the egg carton top when I lift it up. It is on egg carton I get from Aldi’s. It gives me a lift when reading it. In fact, I try to buy these eggs if I can just to see this.
