Together with You and Miss Lois and….
On this Inaugural Day, this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and this day of Dave Herman’s funeral* here’s one last lesson Miss Lois taught with her Romper Room prayer.
“Let us thank God for our food” is a call to gratitude, worship and action.
It’s not about “me” or “mine.” It’s about “us” and “our” stuff.
It’s a reminder that we’re all in this together.
It’s a call to community: “Let us thank God for our….”
Right now, I’m thanking God for this moment with you to remember what matters.
