Your Gift is Ready

“Stir up the gift that is within you”

—2nd Timothy 1:6

The third part of our United Methodist membership vow is about “gifts.”

We all have them.

Some gifts are evident and employed for the betterment of all.

Some are lying dormant.  Some are ignored or undiscovered.

Our old friend St. Paul wrote to his younger friend Timothy and encouraged him to keep his gift fired up and active.

Perhaps that’s the message for you today.

“But Joe, I can’t do that!”  Neither could Paul.  Neither could Timothy.  Neither can I.  “It is God who works in you,” Paul wrote to friends at Philippi.

Since God’s at work in you, what gift of yours can you “stir up” today?
