O Come, All Ye Faithful, Joyful and…Wait…Joyful? Really?
“O come, all ye faithful,
joyful, and triumphant!
O come ye, o come ye,
to Bethlehem.”
I don’t always feel joyful.
Maybe you don’t either.
Maybe there’s a reason.
The adult Jesus said that he told us everything he did “for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature.” (John 15:11, The Message version.)
Jesus wants our joy to be about more than our feelings.
Even during The Weekend Before Christmas.
Maybe even especially now.
Really.
Right on the money. as usual.
