For When We Need It

March 31, 2012

“Are we out of coffee?”

“We’re fine.  Probably enough here for another cup or two.”

“Yeah, but they said they’d be coming by.  Let’s go ahead and make some more.  Then when we need it, we’ll have it.”

That applies to more than coffee in the kitchen on the morning of an unexpected event, when friends will be stopping by.

Quick self-inventory:

Are you running low on faith, or hope, or love right now?

Thinking you’re fine?  Probably enough for another little while at least?

But those unexpected, uninvited events in life do come along.

Today,  invest some time and energy in those habits that strengthen your soul.

Then when you need that strength, you’ll have it.

Saints long before us called those “holy habits.”

What are some that help you?

RSVP, and I’ll see you back here soon.
