Criticized
Ken Coleman, on criticism —-
Humans have never lived in a moment or so many people can be so visibly critical (or downright hateful) with so little risk of repercussion.
Whenever I encounter criticism these days, I ask two questions:
What in the words is true?
What in the words is beneficial?
People often preface statements by warning that they’re about to offer “constructive criticism.” What makes criticism truly constructive is your posture not theirs. Use it as a springboard for improving the very element someone was attacking.
—- Let’s help each other remember these things. Deal?
