“Hey There, Preacher!” part 3 of 3.
He was our pastor at a crucial time in my childhood.
As I grew all sorts of ways, so did my respect and appreciation for him.
When I was ordained as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church, he wrote this in the front of a Bible he gave me.
So it was that while “standing on a corner” in Vandalia, Illinois rather than “Winslow, Arizona” I flashed to this, from a front page of a New English Bible translation of the New Testament —
—- and it was and is much more than just “such a fine sight to see.”
