Are You Arguing More Lately?
The following is from John Wesley…with [these] edited in by me because, well, when I was in seminary such things were taught and I still think [this kinda thing] is important and that Mr. Wesley would as well.
Why? Because as a young child in a Children’s Sermon yesterday reminded all of us, “People matter.” —
Condemn no [one] for not thinking as you think.
Let every one enjoy the full and free liberty of thinking for [themselves].
Let every[one] use [his/her] own judgment, since each must give an account of [themselves] to God.
Abhor every approach, in any kind or degree, to the spirit of persecution, if you cannot reason nor persuade [someone] into the truth, never attempt to force [them] into it.
If love will not compel [them] to come, leave [them] to God, the judge of all.
— and really now, doesn’t that all sound like Someone Else we know?
