Ready?
John Wesley, instrumental in the Methodist movement, has this line attributed to him:
“I want my preachers ready
to preach, pray, or die.”
I was quite young when I first encountered that.
My first response was to ask if it’s Multiple Choice.
Part of Mr. Wesley’s point there for all of us was the same as our old friend St. Paul’s when he wrote, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. (Romans 14:12)
Seems pretty inclusive.
Each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
