Like They Told Us

None other than G. K. Chesterton gave this advice —

Don’t take the fence down

until you know the reason it was put up.

— Sounds like something an older family member would toss out while driving. Or fishing. Or doing dishes. Or playing catch.

Yup, I got advice in all those settings and more. You too?

    Joe,
    My mother always told me that there is someone who is always better off than you and someone who is always worse off than you so that leaves you right in the middle.
