The Time of Our Lives
Tammy Renee Harris is a friend in real life and a singer I highly recommend to you. It is with her graciously expressed permission that I share this with you, which she wrote on August 26, 2024 – –
The Bible reminds us that our days are as grass. For a brief time we flourish, but soon we wither and die. Yet the minutes of our lives can be flecked with the gold of eternity. Instead of wasting our lives-as we so easily do-God exhorts us to redeem the time. Our choices have consequences and blessings that ripple far into the future. The things we see are only temporary; the things that truly matter are eternal. ~ Billy Graham
Yesterday, August 25, marked the death of my sister, Vickie, and also 10 months since my mom’s home going. My sister only spent 20 years on this earth. Truly, our days are brief, even if we live to 90, as my momma did. If you could ask her now, she’d say that they flew by, I’m sure. Now they both, along with my daddy and so many others, live in light of eternity, where a day is like a 1,000 years and a 1,000 years as a day.
Yesterday morning was very hard … I did not want to face it. But, God reminded me that His mercies are new every morning and I thanked Him for His great faithfulness! May our days be flecked with the gold of eternity and may we redeem the time wisely so we can have a positive ripple effect on the future, just as my sister and Mom did. Both are incredibly missed by me everyday.
