BONUS BLOG: picking up the branches
Mary Leidig is a friend IRL from longer ago than we’ll either one admit. It’s with her graciously expressed permission that I share what she wrote this morning in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene —
Took me less than an hour in our backyard this morning to pick up the many branches that fell during Friday’s wind storm. I kept being reminded of the nearly invisible aftermath of that storm in our lives.
And yet … all around us in other counties and other states—some nearby, some far way—unimaginable damage. For many, there are hard days ahead. For us, some branches.
So many reasons to be thankful today.
