Starting with Heaven
John Newton, famous for the song Amazing Grace, (but check out a bit of history, both his own and also that song’s melody), is credited also with this —
If ever I reach heaven, I expect to find three wonders there:
first, to meet some I had not thought to see there;
second, to miss some I had expected to see there;
and third, the greatest wonder of all, to find myself there.
Let’s come back to that. For now, ask yourself who all you placed in which of the two groups he names…and why.
