Jesus: Platform? Brand?
Before you go any farther here, please take a moment and read/review Matthew 25:31-46.
Okay.
I’m not kidding.
And neither was David F. Watson when he wrote,
Jesus is not a platform. He is not a brand. He is neither a cudgel by which we subdue our opponents nor a key by which we open the halls of political power. He is Lord, and he warns us of the danger of using his name while ignoring his teachings. We may say, “Lord, Lord” until we’re blue in the face, and that same Lord may someday look at us and say, “I never knew you.” (https://davidfwatson3.substack.com/p/redaction-criticism-of-charlie-kirk?fbclid=IwAR1_QMZyhuASUD7DMwKfWg7ivRGIEOZUFLwd8xjbofYwuBdhDOsEBXZ5gp4)
