Heart. Real. Or Else. 3rd of 3.
Give me your heart
Make it real
Or else forget about it
— “Smooth” by Itaal Shur & Robert Thomas
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot, says Christ Jesus in Revelation 3:15,16. He continues, I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Seat belt on, shoulder harness in place, helmet tight? Here’s the Message version: I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit.
“Forget about it” is mild compared to what Scripture says about what we’re doing…or not doing….
Stagnant is not the goal for us in Christ Jesus. See Philippians 3:12-14 for clarity.
I’ll leave you to do your own prayerful self-inventory.
Because I’m doing mine, too.
