That Thorn. Yes, That One.
Lynda Phillips Richards is a friend and colleague who has graciously given me permission to share this with you – – –
My husband Joe is Preaching a series based on the book: “Dangerous Prayers.” by Craig Groeschel, for Lent.
Today the theme was: “Break Me.”
Joe reminded me that the Apostle Paul had a “thorn in the flesh”. some unknown affliction which he felt was hampering his ministry-making his life miserable.
Altho he prayed 3 times that God would heal his affliction, God never did. Instead God told Paul that “My grace is sufficient for you.”
In other word’s God’s gracious presence to carry Paul in spite of Paul’s health problem was really all Paul needed.
God and I haven’t been on the same page with prayers about my frustrations with the neuropathy in my legs and feet.
I am wondering how knowing God’s Grace can be sufficient for me, even if my problems persist, might change my life.
So begins a new chapter in dealing with the un-fun parts of getting older!
