Twice a Week
Mandy McCarty Harris shares wisdom here —-
Twice a week I do our laundry.
Twice a month I meet with my therapist.
I don’t keep washing the clothes because it didn’t work the first time. I keep washing the clothes because I keep wearing them and I care about continuing to have clean and comfortable clothes for whatever activity, weather, or mood we may come across.
I don’t keep going to therapy because it didn’t work the first time. I keep going to therapy because I keep living and nothing feels more empowering than having the tools and perspective I need to show up for whatever situation, mood, or challenge I may come across.
I don’t have to do these things. I GET to do these things. I CHOOSE to do these things. I’m telling you so that you know there’s no shame if you choose to do them, too.
