Still Flunking Retirement, part 2
Been sitting with this awhile.
Been sitting on this awhile.
Been letting this interest me, then depress me, then irritate me, then inspire me, then annoy me, all for longer and more than I’ll admit.
Okay, I’ll at least grudgingly admit the time frame: the column* by Karen Kreider Yoder and Steve Kerider Yoder appeared on my laptop screen early on a chilly Saturday morning, the 7th of October of last year.
And from Steve’s part of the piece comes this line, shaking the foundations. Or maybe it’s just a wake-up call —
For me, downsizing is more than getting rid of stuff.
It’s about getting rid of conceptions of myself—
of who I was, who I am and who I want to be.
