EXAMPLE TWO —
The last time I saw my father was on my wedding day. He died the following summer. This Father’s Day, in church this morning I began to feel a deep sense of gratitude for all the effort my father made to come to my wedding. No one thought he would be able to come because of his mental and physical illnesses and the hardships he faced. But he did. We never got a photo together because he was not well. But he was there. And today, the fact that he was there matters to me more than I have ever realized.
