Not Always Easy (Mt. 5)
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 5:10
That’s the first of three verses that are all variations of the same theme: following Christ Jesus isn’t always going to be fun, or the proverbial Sunday School Picnic, or even easy.
But?
As Christ Jesus says at the end of this section, Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.
Might be time to go back to the beginning of this Matthew 5 series….
