Read. Write. Think. Dream.
[Number 4 in a series. Will make the most sense in context, so a Quick Review of the first three might be in order.]
“Maybe it was the pizza you had the night before,” replied Dr. James Fowler of Emory University. A student in our Stages of Faith Development seminary class had asked him for help with interpretation of a recent nightmare. Point well taken, right?
And then there are all those examples in our Bibles of the times God spoke to people in their dreams.
Leaving those there, and with Fowler’s exceedingly kind, if gravelly, voice still echoing in my head and heart, let me direct our attention here —
God says,
“I will pour out my Spirit
on every kind of people:
Your sons will prophesy,
also your daughters.
Your old men will dream,
your young men will see visions.”
— That’s Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17.
That’s God’s promise.
That includes you.
Today: take time to prayerfully Read, and to Write, and to Think, and to Dream.
I’d love to hear from you about any of this, in any of the usual ways, and I look forward to being here with you tomorrow for what is perhaps the most exciting part of this process.
