I will never forget being in the movie theater watching Black Panther, sitting near a young Black family, looking at their young daughter just staring at the screen. She jumped off her father’s lap and wanted to get closer- then she turned around and said with amazement, “THEY ALL LOOK LIKE ME!!!”
Mom, Dad and I looked at each other and started crying.
That was the power of Black Panther- not just a movie in the Marvel Universe- but a way of spreading hope and possibility!
