If This Sounds Familiar, Good!
I have a lot of questions about many of the things in the news lately. You, too?
People I care about maintain hard positions on both extremes of a couple of those current topics and situations. You, too?
Some are also well entrenched with their minds firmly made up. You, too?
Most of the time I tend to land somewhere in the middle, depending upon what we’re talking about. You, too?
Meanwhile, I’m simply trying to adhere to three New Testament verses these days —
If it is possible,
as far as it depends on you,
live at peace
with everyone
(Romans 12:18)
and
Work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling
(Philippians 2:12)
and
Worry about nothing,
pray about everything.
(Philippians 4:6).
— Seem to be some growing edges there for me. You, too?
And if this sounds familiar, good! It’s based on some things I wrote to the recipients of my weekly “At Homer” pastoral letter and my column in our church newsletter last month.
And a month later, it’s no surprise that there still seem to be some growing edges for me. You, too?
